Motherdough Co. was created out of a deep love for sourdough and the traditions behind it. Our starters originate from ancient cultures that have been passed down for generations. While we didn’t create them from scratch, we devoted ourselves to what matters most—caring for them properly so they remain alive, balanced, and strong.
Like many bakers, we experienced the frustration of starters that failed, bread that was overly sour, and loaves that never rose the way they should. We believed sourdough didn’t need to be complicated—it just needed thoughtful care. Through consistent feeding, proper temperature, and time-tested methods, our starter became healthy, reliable, and full of authentic flavor.
What began as something shared with friends and family quickly became something we knew could help others. Today, Motherdough Co. exists to remove the frustration from sourdough baking and replace it with confidence.
